Specialty chemistry for the work that matters.
Paradigm Labs manufactures water-based specialty chemicals for the industries that build everything else. A 250-product base portfolio. Custom formulations developed on-site. Quality verified batch by batch.
From bench to truckload, formulated to your spec.
Our core formulary covers the families our customers ask for most. Need something different? Our chemists develop new water-based formulations in weeks, not quarters.
Defoamers
Silicone and non-silicone water-based defoamers for pulp & paper, municipal and industrial wastewater, paints & coatings, textile dye-houses, and food-contact-adjacent applications. Effective from cold-water to 160°F process temperatures across a pH range of 2 to 12.
Typical use: 50–500 ppm in process water. Available in 5-gal pails, 55-gal drums, 275-gal totes, and bulk.
Industrial Cleaners & Degreasers
Biodegradable water-based degreasers, alkaline parts-washer detergents, neutral floor cleaners, acid descalers, and CIP sanitation chemistry. Engineered to replace solvent systems without the VOC exposure or hazmat shipping burden.
Typical use: 1:5 to 1:100 dilution for spray, soak, and ultrasonic applications. Custom dye-and-fragrance available.
Dispersants & Surfactants
Pigment dispersants for water-based coatings and inks. Anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactants. Wetting agents for textile sizing and dyeing. Emulsifiers compatible with high-solids systems up to 80% by weight.
Typical use: 0.5–3% by weight in finished formulations. Compatible with most acrylic, polyurethane, and alkyd systems.
High-Viscosity Blends
Water-based adhesives, latex paints, architectural and industrial coatings, polyurethane carriers, and shear-sensitive polymer systems. High-speed dispersion tanks at both plants handle up to 200,000 cP and 80% solids loading.
Capability: Cowles dispersers, vacuum-capable reactors, in-line filtration to 25 microns, gravimetric fills.
Metalworking Fluids & Corrosion Inhibitors
Synthetic and semi-synthetic cutting fluids for CNC, stamping, and grinding. Rust preventatives for in-process and shipping protection. Hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel inhibitors. Bio-stable formulations for extended sump life.
Typical use: 3–8% dilution for cutting fluids; 0.5–2% for in-process corrosion protection.
Custom Formulations
Bring us a competitor SDS, a problem statement, or a target spec; we'll deliver a working bench sample. Reverse-engineering, performance-matching, regulatory-driven reformulations, and ground-up custom development all welcomed.
Timeline: Bench sample 2–6 weeks. Pilot 2–4 weeks. First production batch typically within 60 days.
Pilot to production, all under one roof.
Our two US plants combine deep formulation expertise with the equipment to actually run it. Three new reactors in Pennsylvania, eight atmospheric tanks, plus large-scale truckload capacity in Louisiana for the bulk customers.
- 300, 1,500, and 3,000 gallon reactors (vacuum or pressure capable)
- Eight atmospheric tanks from 500 to 3,300 gallons
- 6,500 gallon truck-load capacity in St. Gabriel, LA
- High-speed dispersion to 200,000 cP, high solids
What our chemistry actually does in your plant.
Generic chemical descriptions don't tell you whether a product will solve your specific problem. Here's how our core formulations get used in the industries we serve most.
Pulp & Paper
Common products: Silicone and silicone-free defoamers, dispersants for fillers, deinking surfactants.
Common problem: Stock-prep foam reducing drainage and contaminating size press chemistry. Our defoamers knock down entrained air at 50–200 ppm without leaving deposits on felts or wires.
Municipal & Industrial Wastewater
Common products: Aerator-tank defoamers, biosolids dewatering aids, pH adjusters, polymer carriers.
Common problem: Foam overflow at aeration basins during seasonal influent changes. We deliver biodegradable defoamers that don't disrupt biological treatment downstream.
Metals Processing
Common products: Synthetic cutting fluids, rust preventatives, alkaline parts-washer detergents, pickling additives.
Common problem: CNC sump bacteria producing odor and biofilm. Our bio-stable formulations triple sump life vs. legacy soluble oils.
Textile Manufacturing
Common products: Sizing agents, wetting surfactants, anti-static treatments, softening agents, dye-bath defoamers.
Common problem: Foam in beam-dyeing equipment causing uneven shade. Knockdown defoamers metered at 0.05–0.2% on weight of fiber.
Industrial Laundering
Common products: Heavy-duty alkaline builders, sours, softeners, oxygen and chlorine bleach boosters, anti-redeposition agents.
Common problem: Greasy soils from F&B service uniforms. Our high-alkaline + nonionic surfactant pairing handles cold-water saponification at lower dosing.
Transportation & Fleet
Common products: Truck-wash concentrates, tire-shine dressings, bug & tar removers, engine bay degreasers.
Common problem: Streaking on white tractor finishes from high-pH wash chemistry. Buffered hi-foam concentrates at neutral pH for safe aluminum and clearcoat contact.
Every batch tested, every spec verified.
Our in-house lab runs analytical tests against your spec on every production run. Certificates of Analysis accompany every shipment. No surprises. No off-spec deliveries.
Karl Fischer Titration
Precise moisture content analysis for water-sensitive formulations and raw material verification.
Gas Chromatography
Identifies and quantifies volatile components for QC and reverse-engineering of competitor products.
Viscometry
Brookfield and rotational viscometers from low-viscosity fluids to 200,000 cP gels and pastes.
pH & Conductivity
Continuous monitoring during production. COA accompanies every shipment for traceable QC.
