Thirty years of building chemistry that holds up.
We started in 1991 with a single conviction: water-based chemistry could replace solvent-based products without sacrificing performance. That conviction built the company, and it still drives every formulation that leaves our dock.
Help our customers eliminate problems, reduce costs, lower risk, and increase sales.
That's the only mission statement we've ever needed. Every product we make exists to do at least one of those four things for the people who buy it. If a formulation can't deliver on that promise, we don't ship it.
We do it through chemistry, not slogans. Water-based replacements for solvent-based legacy products. Custom formulations developed in weeks instead of quarters. Lab-verified consistency batch after batch.

The Paradigm Labs story.
What started as a small acquisition in Pennsylvania has become a coast-to-coast specialty chemicals operation.
Founded by Terry K. Maier
Terry K. Maier acquired assets from an established eastern Pennsylvania chemical producer. From day one the company committed to water-based products as replacements for solvent-based legacy chemistry.
Biodegradable chemistry and toll blending
Launched biodegradable detergents and water-based coatings for the textile industry. Introduced toll blending services and expanded laboratory capabilities to support custom development for clients.
Louisiana expansion
Opened a 12,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in St. Gabriel, LA. The new plant added truckload-scale capacity and brought us closer to customers in the Gulf, Texas, and the Southeast.
Pine Grove expansion
Added 5,000 sq. ft. of new building space at the Pennsylvania headquarters to support growing demand for toll-blended specialty products from multinational customers.
Two facilities, one team, global reach
Paradigm Labs serves more than 40 global markets with a 250-product base portfolio and full custom formulating capability. Made in the USA. Kosher available. Family-built, customer-driven.
Two plants, one operating standard.
Both locations run the same quality systems, the same documentation, and the same lab procedures. Customers don't have to learn two companies.

Pine Grove, Pennsylvania (HQ)
7 Roberts Road, Pine Grove, PA 17963. The headquarters and R&D center. Three new reactors (300, 1,500, 3,000 gallons), eight atmospheric tanks, and the company's main analytical lab. Vacuum and pressure capability for sensitive chemistries.

St. Gabriel, Louisiana
3510 Delta Drive, St. Gabriel, LA 70776. 12,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant serving the Gulf and Southeast. Atmospheric tanks at 300, 2,200, and 6,500 gallons. High-speed dispersion to 200,000 cP. Truckload-ready shipping.
Family-built since 1991. Professionally led today.
Paradigm Labs is privately held and family-operated. The team running it has spent careers inside chemical manufacturing, not pivoting in from somewhere else.
From the production floor to the corner office.
Brendan is the son of founder Terry K. Maier and grew up inside the company his father built. He started on the production floor, moved into the laboratory, then into project leadership before stepping up to operational and financial oversight of both the Pennsylvania and Louisiana plants. He led the design and construction of the St. Gabriel, LA facility from blueprints through commissioning.
Promoted to President in 2021, Brendan now leads the company's push into automation, faster custom-formulation cycle times, and tighter integration between the two plants. He holds a Bachelor's in Accounting from Albright College and an MBA in Corporate Finance from Alvernia University.

Proof points that matter to procurement.
The certifications, standards, and operating disciplines that purchasing departments, quality teams, and regulatory groups ask about before they buy.
ISO 9000 compliant quality system
We operate under an ISO 9000 quality management framework, the international standard for repeatable production, document control, corrective action, and customer-spec traceability. Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis.
Made in the USA
Every product we manufacture is made on US soil. Both plants run American crews, source from domestic and qualified international suppliers, and ship LTL or full truckload from PA or LA.
Kosher production on request
We can produce Kosher-certified materials when customer applications require it, including food-contact-adjacent industrial chemistry. We coordinate inspections with the customer's preferred Kosher certifying agency.
Biodegradable chemistry leadership
Since 1991 we've engineered biodegradable water-based replacements for solvent-based products. That predates most of the current regulatory pressure for green chemistry; for us it's the original product strategy.
Regulatory document support
Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Certificates of Analysis (COA), Technical Data Sheets (TDS), TSCA support, and CBI (confidential business information) protections handled in-house. Request an SDS at customerservice@paradigmlabs.us.
Mutual NDAs & confidentiality
We sign mutual NDAs before reviewing any proprietary formula. Your IP, your supplier list, your customer base, your packaging artwork: it all stays inside the engagement and never crosses customer boundaries.
What we say no to is as important as what we say yes to.
We don't ship off-spec product. We don't ghost-formulate from someone else's bench. We don't push a sale when the right answer is “not yet.” In a commoditized industry, those choices are how we've kept customers for decades.
- Water-based chemistry where it can replace solvents
- Quality verified on every batch, not every order
- NDA confidentiality, no exceptions
- Made in the USA, shipped from our docks
- Honest pricing, honest timelines
Common questions, answered.
If you don't find your question here, call us or send us a note. We typically respond within one business day.
How long has Paradigm Labs been in the chemical industry?
We've been manufacturing specialty chemicals since 1991, with roots in the chemical industry that reach back even farther. Founder Terry K. Maier acquired the assets of a long-established eastern Pennsylvania chemical producer and built the current company on a water-based-chemistry-first philosophy that the second generation of leadership still operates under today.
Is Paradigm Labs ISO certified?
Paradigm Labs operates under an ISO 9000 compliant quality management system. ISO 9000 is the international family of standards that define, establish, and maintain an effective quality system. In practice it means our processes for batch documentation, raw material qualification, finished-product testing, deviation handling, and corrective action all follow a written, audited framework.
What makes Paradigm Labs different from other toll blenders?
Three things. First, we manufacture our own 250-product base portfolio, so we can co-formulate, not just compound someone else's recipe. Second, we operate two US facilities (PA and LA) under one quality system, so customers don't have to learn two companies. Third, water-based and biodegradable chemistry has been our specialty since 1991, well before it became a regulatory requirement.
Are all products made in the USA?
Yes. Every product we manufacture is made in the USA at one of our two plants: Pine Grove, Pennsylvania or St. Gabriel, Louisiana.
How do I request a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for a product?
Email customerservice@paradigmlabs.us or call 888-933-4554 with the product name or part number. SDS documents are typically returned the same business day.
How do I request a sample?
Email customerservice@paradigmlabs.us or call 888-933-4554. For custom formulations the sample is preceded by a short technical conversation and (if needed) a mutual NDA so we can scope the bench work properly.
What's the minimum order quantity for a custom formulation?
Lab samples are typically 1 to 5 gallons. Pilot batches start around 50 gallons. Full production runs from 300 gallons up to a 6,500-gallon truckload. We work backward from your annual volume and lead-time tolerance to recommend the right starting batch size.
Do you sign NDAs before reviewing our formula?
Yes. We sign mutual NDAs as part of the discovery conversation, before any chemistry detail is exchanged. Your formulation, raw material list, supplier identities, customer relationships, and packaging artwork stay confidential.
Can you reverse-engineer a competitor product?
In many cases, yes. Our analytical lab uses gas chromatography, Karl Fischer titration, viscometry, and pH testing to characterize unknown formulations. Whether we can deliver an exact match depends on the chemistry; whether we can deliver something equivalent or better is usually yes.
How long does a custom formulation typically take?
Bench formulation: 2 to 6 weeks. Pilot batch plus your validation: another 2 to 4 weeks. First full production batch: typically inside 60 days from kickoff. Regulatory-heavy chemistries (NSF, EPA-registered actives, etc.) can take longer because of testing windows.
What are your payment terms?
New customers operate on credit card (or e-check) terms for the first six months. After that, customers in good standing can apply for Net30 by contacting our customer service team. Credit card orders carry a 2% surcharge to cover processing.
Do you handle hazmat shipping?
Yes. Hazmat surcharges apply based on the product's hazard classification, packing group, and quantity. We can quote landed cost for any product as part of an RFQ.
